The program aims to equip faculty members with the latest educational strategies and methods to enhance the quality of academic teaching and ensure the effectiveness of knowledge delivery to students. It also seeks to enable faculty members to adopt innovative teaching practices that align with modern developments in the academic field.

The training program focuses on techniques for using modern technologies as effective teaching aids through:

  • Designing and developing electronic learning materials.
  • Creating and structuring virtual tests and assignments.
  • Organizing discussion sessions and online forums.

Effective Digital Education Techniques

During the program, trainees will learn how to design and prepare exams and develop question banks in a professional and systematic manner, aligned with approved academic standards. They will also be trained on effective strategies for constructing assessments and formulating evaluative questions, with a focus on defining their topics, cognitive levels, and intended learning outcomes.

The trainee will learn methods of information exchange between faculty members and students, which can be carried out through various means. These include verbal communication, encompassing spoken or written words used to directly convey ideas and information, and non-verbal communication, which involves using non-verbal cues such as a smile, hand gestures, nodding, or facial expressions that indirectly express emotions and thoughts.

The trainee will learn methods for developing students’ self-directed and lifelong learning skills, with a focus on the faculty member’s role as a mentor, guide, and facilitator of the learning environment. The aim is to empower faculty members to play a pivotal role in creating a supportive and motivating educational environment that enhances students’ independence and their ability to pursue lifelong learning.

Implementation Period

From 13 / 04 / 1446 AH (October 16, 2024) to 01 / 06 / 1446 AH (December 2, 2024).

Target Group

Newly appointed faculty members, whether those who joined the university under new contracts or those returning from scholarship programs within the past two years.

 

Program Participants – Numbers and Diversity

The total number of participants in the program series reached 587 trainees (including repeated participation), comprising 231 male trainees and 347 female trainees.

A total of 149 faculty members benefited from these programs (at least one participation), including 62 males and 87 females.

Faculty participation spanned 13 colleges, with the College of Science recording the highest participation, followed by the College of Business Administration, and then the Applied College. Notably, there was no participation from the College of Computer Science and Information Technology or the College of Engineering.

A total of 99 trainees successfully completed the requirements to obtain the certificate (attending at least four training programs), including 39 male trainees and 60 female trainees.
